Campers will need a footlocker and a duffel bag. Space is limited in cabins, so girls should not bring large trunks to Camp. The best size is 34"Lx18"Wx14"H.

Due to safety standards, hard sole shoes with a defined heel are required for campers taking Horseback Riding. Hiking boots, sneakers, duck shoes are not acceptable for horseback riding. No exceptions, please.

First term campers will want to have red, white, and blue to wear on the 4th of July. Second term campers will want to have red and green for summer Christmas.

Campers are not allowed to bring bicycles, personal pets, or their own horse to Camp. Expensive personal equipment (such as a tennis racquet or musical instrument) will be each camper's responsibility. Camp will provide the equipment needed for each activity, except for those items listed above. Riding helmets will be provided, though campers may bring their own.

Camp DeSoto likes modesty. Therefore we ask campers to bring modest swim suits. We ask campers not to wear t-shirts with suggestive messages, and we ask them not to wear halter tops at any time. We also make two requests of campers for the Alpine parties: 1) no spaghetti straps, and 2) please cover your stomach. Please make sure your daughter(s) has an appropriate outfit for the dance in light of those guidelines. Thank you for helping your daughter pack accordingly.

Campers and staff wear all white on Sunday. Any sweatshirts, or sweaters, worn with the white shorts and white shirt need to be white with no writing. Campers attending Mass will also wear all white. Please do not send strapless, one strap, halter top, or spaghetti strap shirts for your daughter's Sunday whites.

Due to safety standards and cabin comfort we ask you to be moderate in packing for camp. Remember that life is simpler at camp, thus less "stuff" should be needed. We ask that footlockers be no larger than 34L x 18W x 13H (or 30L x 18W x 14H). Any extra shelves or crates will be stored during the month and returned to the camper at the end of the term. One moderate size plastic container is permissible for extra storage if it fits easily under the cot.

Camp laundries are not like your home laundry. Please send only sturdy camp clothes. Our laundry cannot accommodate special laundry needs. Laundry is done approximately every 7 days.

Campers who take swimming are required to wear swimming caps. We will sell inexpensive ones at the Camp store.
