Activities

As a traditional summer camp, DeSoto offers a wide variety of over 30 activities.  The goal of Camp DeSoto's activity program is to teach girls new skills, improve those they have already begun developing, and allow them to explore new interests in a safe and fun environment.

Girls choose their activity schedules soon after they arrive at camp.  Each camper may choose up to ten activities: five on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday rotation and five on a Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday rotation, with the option to take one period of unstructured free time each day.  (Junior campers are assigned a shower period in which they also have time to play on their own.)  Several activities are age-specific, allowing for girls to experience new things each year of Camp.  Every activity is staffed by counselors who have been trained and certified in that particular area of instruction.

DeSoto's activity program is the primary structure of our days at camp, and it is filled with fun, learning, and growth for campers of all ages.
